Banana cotton is made from fibres extracted from the banana plant stem — the part left behind after harvest. These fibres are blended with cotton (50% banana fibre, 50% cotton) to create a fabric that's naturally softer, more breathable, and gentler on skin than regular cotton alone. We chose it because when we tested it against our baby's skin, nothing else came close.

Yes. Banana cotton is naturally hypoallergenic — free from synthetic additives and harsh chemical processing. It's particularly well-suited for newborn skin, which is 5x more sensitive than adult skin and prone to irritation from rough or synthetic fabrics. We use no harsh dyes or chemical finishes in our fabric processing.

Regular cotton is the most common baby fabric — and it's fine. But "fine" is the ceiling. It softens initially, stiffens after repeated washing, holds moisture against the skin, and is made from a crop that uses significant water and pesticides to grow.

Bamboo sounds natural but the reality is more complicated. Most bamboo fabric on the market is actually bamboo viscose — a heavily processed fibre that involves chemical treatments to break down the bamboo pulp. By the time it becomes fabric, very little of bamboo's natural properties survive. It's soft, yes — but the "natural" label is largely marketing.

Banana cotton— our 50/50 blend — is different in two ways. First, the banana fibre itself is extracted mechanically from the plant stem with minimal chemical processing, so it retains its natural properties — fine fibre structure, natural breathability, moisture-wicking. Second, blending it with cotton gives it the durability and wash performance that pure banana fibre alone lacks. The result is a fabric that is genuinely softer than regular cotton, more honestly natural than bamboo viscose, and built to last daily baby laundry.

We didn't choose banana cotton because it sounds interesting. We chose it because when we put it next to everything else and felt the difference, nothing came close.

Minimal shrinkage — typically less than 3% — which is standard for natural fibre blends. We recommend cold or lukewarm water wash to maintain shape and softness. Avoid high-heat drying.

We size by age — 0–3M, 3–6M, 6–12M, and 1-2Y. As a general guide: if your baby is between sizes, size up — babies grow fast and a slightly roomier fit is always more comfortable. Our onesies have snap closures that allow a little adjustment at the bottom, which helps extend the fit as your baby grows.

Most newborns fit 0–3M comfortably from birth. If your baby was born early or is under 2.5kg, the fit may be slightly loose initially — but the snap closures help. Babies typically grow into 0–3M within the first few weeks.

Yes — our sizing is calibrated to standard Indian baby measurements. We recommend checking the size guide on each product page for exact chest and length measurements if you're unsure.

Machine wash cold or lukewarm (max 30°C) on a gentle cycle. Use a mild, baby-safe detergent — avoid fabric softeners as they can coat the fibres and reduce breathability over time. Tumble dry on low or air dry in shade. Do not bleach. The fabric softens further with each wash — it genuinely gets better over time.

Minimal fading with proper care. Wash dark colours separately for the first 2–3 washes. Cold water wash significantly reduces colour loss. We use dyes that are tested safe for baby skin — lower chemical intensity means they're gentler but need a little care in early washes.

Low heat iron is fine if needed. Banana cotton is naturally smooth — most pieces won't need ironing if air dried properly on a flat surface.
